Hello,

I was able to get Voxel Farm plugin working on blank project after following https://forums.voxelfarm.com/post/cant-compile-ue4-plugin-9464217?pid=1302000104.

After that the plugin/project is able to compile.

However on Windows 10 (16299.125), VS 2017 (15.5.2)  using Unreal Engine 4.18.2 (source). When launching the project I am getting

Was wondering what version UE/visual studio voxel farm was testing against? Seems to be a bunch of little things, and wondering if i should just use 4.18.0 or previous version of visual studio.

We have tested up to 4.18.2, without issues. Most users of the Voxel Farm SDK for UE are currently running 4.18.2 as well.

It is strange that the error report dialog is suppressed for your project. Is this something you configured on purpose? More information about this error would help.

Just double-checking: You mention you created a blank new project, however, your screenshot shows Forest.uproject which is the same name of the UE demo included in our SDK. Is it that you named the blank project "Forest" as well?

We can take a look at this project for you if you upload it and send us a link to support at voxelfarm.com

I was saying i was able to create a blank project just fine (Regular project + plugin). But I wanted to look at the example project (since i'm new to voxel farm, and see what an existing setup looks like). When trying to run the UE Demo project thats when it crashes.

As for the Error report, that is because i did not build UE's Crash Reporter. The logs produced are the same (and I attached the crash log that is normally display with crash reporter)

Looking at the log you provided, Voxel Farm is not involved in the stack call leading to the crash. It seems to be happening in the recast nav mesh component. Also from the log, this does not look like a blank new project. Can you confirm?

This is the UE4 Example that comes with VF.

So can you confirm that this is an issue with your example project and 4.18?

No, we cannot reproduce this. The demo project loads correctly for us, and it also works for many other users running 4.18.2

Your error log points at recast nav mesh system failing to initialize, the Voxel Farm module appears to be loading fine.

Did you migrate the Windows platform tools at any point? UE may have issues if you upgrade your project the VS2017. Even if you load the solution with Visual Studio 2017, you should see the projects using the 2015 version:

Thanks for confirming. After a quick search, this seems to be a compiler bug in VS17 15.5.2 (will be fixed in 15.5.3) https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/734797/crash-on-ue4editor-navmeshdll.html

Thanks for finding out! Hopefully, this will help others while Visual Studio 15.5.3 comes out.
