I could go on how much is wrong with this render (yes one on left - GI) in https://twitter.com/miguelcepero/status/1085719102293852161, but that's not very productive. Instead I suggest to implement/use a fully powered ray tracer and compare the results to see the point of improvements. A textual explanation is way to abstract and will create more confusion then necessary and lead to long sousage conversation 🙂. If team can cut and share the peace of mesh as poligons (anything blender imports), I could render it and do in depth comparison. I could try to recreate the scene, but currently short on time, sorry.
