Is it possible to use Unity3d to edit a voxel terrain and save user edits and then take that saved terrain and be able to load it into Voxel Studio with the same edits still accounted for?

What I am trying to accomplish in building my world editor is first generate a continent within Voxel Studio, tailor it to my liking. Use a world editor created with unity to handle my actual over placement and map format, and tween the terrain for within it for things like road placement, building placement and specific exact details. When that is done, be able to take the terrain editted from the Unity3d program and load it into Voxel Studio, maintain these edits made but also be able to do larger changes such as continent modifications, digging caves etc, and have them transfer between both apps?
